The railway town of Bramming, once the capital of Bramming Municipality, features architectonic quality and cultural and historical gems. Bramming's active business community includes numerous international companies as well as a wide selection of local stores and boutiques. The nearby villages of Gørding, Hunderup, Vejrup and St. Darum are charming local centres, while the rivers Sneum, Holsted and Ilsted are perfect for a spot of fishing or canoeing.

Vejrup – Village of the Year 2008

Vejrup – Village of the Year 2008

230 local businesses, an important tourist attraction and a strong community. These are some of the things that characterise the village of Vejrup, nominated Village of the Year 2008 by Danish association, Villages of Denmark.

This year's theme has been "A village community's physical development", which Vejrup near Esbjerg has accomplished more than any other village in Denmark.

Vejrup has 230 local businesses. "Olsens Paradis" is a major tourist attraction. There is a strong community spirit and range of interest groups and associations. The local citizens recently demonstrated this by raising over one million kroner to fund the expansion of the local leisure centre. Vejrup is a model village and a good example of Danish village community. Such was the verdict of the panel of judges, whose members included former Interior Minister, Britta Schall Holberg.
